Lighting Specialist Course FAQs
Member Asks: We are about to embark on the LS-I training and as a “co-coach” I am trying to come up with a time frame for each module. In your discussion at the NAILD convention, you gave a general time frame for completion of the program. Do you have a module-by-module breakdown? Any information you can share would be helpful.
· Encourage your participants to take the Module Quizzes until they score 100%
· Make sure that your participants fill in the Workbook activities fully and completely
· Use the “Hands On” Exercises as a tool to ensure that your participants are “getting it”.
Note: most of the “Hands On” Exercises require setup. Be sure that you are ready with all of the props for each Module. Overall, remember this is not a “race to the pin” - this is a tool to help participants increase their competence and confidence in light and lighting. It is a tool to improve employee retention and because they become better at what they do, increase customer retention. If you execute the program in this manner, you will communicate that the company values the participants and their success. You will also help ensure that they will ace the Final Exam. We hope that this effort will go a long way to helping you strengthen your company. Most of the Modules take about 30 – 45 minutes of on-line and about 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours Workbook activities and Hands-On Exercises. So figure about 4 hours each Module. I suggest that you encourage participants to take a “breather” (24 - 48 hours) between Modules 2 and 3, Modules 4 and 5, and after Modules 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Then they should complete the Survey, and request scheduling for the Final Exam.
Member Asks: I cannot find the workbook on the NAILD LS1 modules.
When you open the any of modules, in the upper right hand corner you will see "attachments"....click on "Attachments" and a drop down will open with "Click the item below to view the attached content" ex: Module 1 Workbook. When you click on the Module 1 Workbook - it will open in a pdf…if it does not…you may have to disable pop up blockers. Once you have opened the workbook, print it and place it in a binder…there are hands on activities and workbook exercises to complete. You will find that the workbook binder will be a great reference & review source.
Thanks for your inquiry.
